Week 1: A Picture A Day - The Journey

I decided to take a 1 hour bus ride home, which i had never done, instead of taking the MRT. In addition, i also went to Changi Village, a side of Singapore that i have not been to before.

I took a 10 minute walk from school to the bus stop near the National Library in the rain and waited for the bus for half an hour.

I discovered that there was a Mint Museum of Toys in the area.

This building has a lot of national pride, its red and white and even has the word "Singapore" written on it in Mandarin.

The man on the left furiously slammed his hand on the seat every few minutes on the bus. He made me a little scared. But I am also curious to why he was so mad and what happened to him to make him that angry. I guess maybe he just received some bad news.

I came across a beautiful house on the route back home, it did not seem like the typical house you would see in Singapore.

At Changi Village, i went to the beach and found this weird pipe entering the sea. I was wondering where it leads to and what was it carrying. There were very little people at the beach despite it being the weekends.

There was a jetty at Changi Village. Here, i saw a group of workers hopping on a boat and heading down the river. I was curious to where they were going to.

Reflection:

This trip made me realise that I do not know much about Singapore despite living here all my life. Despite being a small country, there are many little wonders on this island that goes by unappreciated by many and I feel that everyone should take some time to venture around places in Singapore that they've yet been to.
Furthermore, I have learnt that everyone has their own story that little know about. We are all too busy to take a look outside our little bubble to find out what other people do or had been through in their lives.
